NBR: Crow War Pony poster

Hi all –

This is a 16x24 poster printed on archival paper that I recently purchased from the photographer, but have not framed it. It’s brand new and still in the original tube. Since then, I’ve instead purchased the same image as a large limited edition print that the artist will be framing for me.

The name of this photo is Crow War Pony-1, and it was displayed at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, in The Song for the Horse Nation exhibit. Brady Willette took this photograph on the ranch of Ken Real Bird in Garryowen, Montana, near Crow Agency, the central town for the Crow Indian Reservation. Ken Real Bird painted the horse as they would have painted it when preparing to go into battle.

It is $30 – let me know if you want to buy it from me and I’ll bring it to work.

NBR: Pre-space age Nook - 2GB WiFi/3G Tablet-esque Type Thingie + Boring Black Leather Cover

Hi All,

I also am selling a similar-in-some-respects-new (2 years old) Nook Tablet-ish type thing (Wi-Fi *and* 3G) with 2GB of "hard drive" space and an boring black leather cover. Here are the specs for each:

- Sparkling black and grey screen good for viewing....books. 

- Touchscreen display kind-of, on one part at the bottom (as designed)

- Ultra-light and portable: absolutely!

- Some amount of RAM!

- It has processor for lightning fast/medium/slow READING

- It actualy does have very long battery life.

- Play chess or sodoku.  No, seriously, it has these two games. 

- Runs Android 1.5 Operating System (Nerd stuff!)

SIDE NOTE: NO LONGER SOLD ANYWHERE WITH SELF-RESPECT. 

I paid $200 and change for this, so I would like to get at least $10 - $20 or a few beers at McFaddens.  If you're feeling daring, I'll accept $5 and your barbaric yawp sounded from the area near Lee Leiber's office.

I am a contractor for a non-profit association.  I have worked for several other non-profits over the years, but this particular client has an interesting policy regarding all staff e-mails.  If staff want to post things that are Non-Business Related, the e-mail subject must include "NBR: ".  People have sold cars, refrigerators, couches, toys, clothing, shoes, bars (yes, a bar with 4 stools, liquor not included).

Over the past several months I have been amazed, shocked, amused, and bewildered by some "NBR" e-mails.  Through this blog, you will be able to share in my delight of crazy, funny, sometimes inappropriate, and unbelievable NBRs.
